Privacy Policy for WiFi Expert

Thank you for choosing WiFi Expert. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles information when you use our services. We are committed to fully complying with Google Play’s User Data policies.
1. Information Collection and Use
WiFi Expert is a strictly local tool designed to operate entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, share, or sell any personal data, location data, or network information to any external servers or third parties.
To provide its core network diagnostics and analysis features, the app requires specific device permissions, which are processed solely on your device:
- Location Permissions (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Android requires location permissions for apps to scan for and retrieve detailed information about nearby Wi-Fi networks (SSID, BSSID, RSSI, etc.). We use this permission strictly to perform local network scans and establish local P2P/NAN connections as requested by you. Your location is never tracked or uploaded.
- Wi-Fi and Network State: We access your device’s Wi-Fi state to display real-time connection telemetry (e.g., connection speed, frequency band) and to allow you to configure features like Autonomous Group Owner (GO).
No Data Transmission: We do NOT upload any of the aforementioned data to the cloud. All network analysis is performed locally on your device’s hardware.
2. P2P and NAN Connections
When you use the Wi-Fi Direct (P2P) or Wi-Fi Aware (NAN) features, your device communicates directly with nearby peer devices. This data exchange occurs over a local, ad-hoc wireless network. None of this traffic routes through our servers.
3. Data Retention Policy
Because WiFi Expert operates exclusively offline and locally, we do not store your data on any external databases or servers. Any network information, telemetry data, logs, or configuration settings accessed or generated by the app are kept strictly locally on your device.
Retention Period: This local data is retained only for as long as the application remains installed on your device, or until you manually clear the application’s data.
4. Data Deletion Policy
Since we do not collect or store your personal data on any servers, there is no need to submit a data deletion request to us. You maintain complete control over your data at all times.
How to delete your data: You can instantly and permanently delete all data (including logs, preferences, and local configurations) associated with WiFi Expert by taking either of the following actions:
- Uninstall the application: Deleting the app from your device will automatically erase all local data it generated.
- Clear app data: Go to your device’s system settings (Settings > Apps > WiFi Expert > Storage > Clear Data).
Performing either of these actions guarantees that all locally retained data is permanently wiped from your device.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
